The month of July is finally here, and with it comes some of the most anticipated mixed martial arts (MMA) fights of the year. UFC 200 saw Daniel Cormier face Jon Jones in a rematch for the light heavyweight championship, while Brock Lesnar faced Mark Hunt in a heavyweight bout. Elsewhere on the card, Demetrious Johnson defended his flyweight title against Chris Cariaso, and Thiago Santos faced Alistair Overeem. Brock Lesnar and Hunt will meet in the main event of UFC 200 on July 9. The bout is expected to be a barn burner, with both fighters possessing world class skills in their respective disciplines.
Lesnar has been one of the most dominant athletes in mixed martial arts history. He has won 29 fights by knockout, including 21 consecutively heading into his fight against Hunt. Hunt is a former K-1 World Champion who has competed in the UFC since 2011.
There is no doubt that this bout will provide nightmarish viewing for fans. However, with Lesnar’s history of dominance, it is unlikely that he will be stopped in this bout. If he does win, it will cement his place as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time.

McGregor vs. Diaz
The UFC continues to amaze with their events. On Saturday night, Jones faced off against Gustafsson in a heavyweight title bout and Brock Lesnar squared off with Hunt in an epic battle for the light heavyweight title. Additionally, on Sunday night Benson Henderson took on Michael Bisping in a rematch of their UFC 100 fight and Demetrious Johnson defended his Flyweight Championship against John Dodson.
Jones vs. Gustafsson was the main event and it was absolutely amazing to watch. These two guys fought toe-to-toe for most of the bout and it was truly a spectacular display of martial arts. In the end, Gustafsson was able to take Jones down and control him for much of the round but Jones proved to be a resilient fighter and eventually got back to his feet. From there, he went on a tear, unleashing furious combinations on Gustafsson’s head. The Swede managed to stay standing through all of it but eventually succumbed to Jones’ onslaught in the final round, earning himself a unanimous decision victory.
Brock Lesnar vs. Hunt was another excellent matchup that fans couldn’t missed. Lesnar is considered by many as one of the greatest fighters ever so it was sure to be an exciting contest. And indeed, it was! From the very beginning, it looked as if Hunt had no chance against Lesnar – he just kept throwing wild punches that always seemed destined for disaster. UFC 200 will feature two title fights when Jones faces Gustafsson and Brock Lesnar battles Hunt. The card will also see a battle between top contenders in Demetrious Johnson and Ray Borg, as well as a heavyweight bout between Fabricio Werdum and Cain Velasquez. Other bouts on the card include a featherweight fight between Frankie Edgar and Jeremy Stephens, and a welterweight fight between Robbie Lawler and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. Brock Lesnar vs. Hunt
With the Jones vs. Gustafsson UFC light heavyweight title fight heading to its conclusion, MMA fans are starting to wonder who will be next in line for a promotion-defining bout. Lesnar is the clear front runner after returning from a four-year hiatus and winning the UFC Heavyweight Championship, but Hunt has also been in incredible form of late.
